TRANSPORTATION
GUIDELINES
Parents are urged to be home by school dismissal time. Bus drivers and school personnel are not responsible for children once they exit the bus at the designated bus stop - regardless of whether or not anyone is home. Parents are encouraged to instruct their children what to do if no one is at home at dismissal time.
Pets and large projects are not permitted to be transported on the school bus. The parents must make alternate arrangements if these items need to be brought to school.
Board of Education policy \prohibits the backing up of school buses unless specifically approved by the board. This policy is provided in the interest of safety.
The Township of Franklin Board of Education has authorized the installation of video surveillance camera in its school buses to support the provision of a safe environment for all students transported to and from school. The Administration of the school district may use the video tape to determine appropriate discipline for inappropriate student behavior. Parents/guardians and students shall be provided the opportunity, upon request, to view the video tape as part of the discipline appeal process.
At Mary F. Janvier School, no one is to enter the front driveway while buses are present.
